to sell or not???
so my bro was driving down the street in his 73 challenger 318 atx. when a guy pulled next to him asking him if he was selling it, so he says no someone already offered him 10 grand and he turned him down. so the other guy says, will you take 20 grand. so my bro and him pulls over to talk things out and my bro gives him all the info on the car and the guy says, if you dont want money i will trade you my car right now, he was driving a BMW 5 series. my bro still kinda turned him down and he went on saying i will give you a old school bmw plus
, quads, bikes, seedoos, whatever my bro wanted. so now my bro is iffy about selling it. it was my dads car and my dad gave him the ok to sell it cause it was a good offer but he and his friends dont want him to.
so what do you guys think he should do. to sell or not to sell that is the question?
heres some pics.

oh yah, theres no major rust in the car, only surface rust, has a rebuilt motor but we still have the original. all panels are clean with no dents, interior needs new dashboard and seats. and it runs fine.
It's up to him, but he won't be able to replace it for whatever he gets out of it. Check what 5 series are actually selling for, and what these cars are actually selling for. In the end, it's all what he wants.
hmm id be a little worried about a guy offering me 20 grand for a car thats not restored not saying its not worth it but usually a car like that would go for about 10-12 in that condition then to be offered all the other stuff car looks really good i think id hang on to it
I vote Challenger. If my dad had a Challenger that he passed on to me I would think it would be cool to keep passing it on to the family. I also think people like to see a Challenger still driving on the road than a BMW. Just remind him that his car is irreplaceable
You might like the idea of selling it now and you might like what you get for it now. But in a few years when the BMW isnt worth crap and all those other toys get boring, you'll really wish you hadn't sold the car. What would you pick, a brand new m-16 worth alot of money or a old ww gun or gun from the vietnam war? The war guns might be a little rusty, a little dinged up, not look as pretty as the brand new shiny m-16 but they got character. They've been places, done things, they have history and you cant change that. I dont know but I see all the little flaws in them as adding to their historical value. That Chally is a part of history and probably has alot of history behind it. Take care of her for years and years and when the government bans gas cars from being made and all the new kids will just know their little electric and plastic wannabe cars you car roar down the road and show them real american muscle.
Every car I own has it's price. I've owned and sold over 20 cars and not once regret selling one because I made money on all of them.
If the sentimental value is high, I'd say keep it. Otherwise take the 20 G and run.
