Selling a Mopar and regretting it....who else has been there?
Got to thinking about my 'Cuda I sold a few years ago while watching Barrett-Jackson this weekend. A black 1971 340 survivor rolled across the block....reminded me of 1972 that my dad and I restored:

Many, many times I've sold one just to regret it and try and replace it. You can't do it... even with exactly the same options, it never the same car. Maybe it's just memories, but there is always a different feel.
And then there's the idea of the car you sold in 1997 for $17,000, making a large pile of money on it, then last year, seeing a car that advertised itself as a copy of the car you sold (Built to be just like the car on the cover of Mar 94's Chrysler Power magazine), and it being bid to over $68,000 on e-bay before you can't watch it any longer without ripping your leg off and kicking your own butt.
There'll always be regrets, but that also leaves the door open to opportunity to find a new friend and make new memories.

[quote=MrOldart2U;35612]The DC problem is the easy one! getting me a mopar is the problem that is near impossible to solve!

I think everyone in DC should buy a MOPAR and a few firearms and go out for a drive in the country and then do some target practicing it might help solve a few things wrong
What kind of Mopar you looking for Red Devil. I just saw a 66 charger for 6500 or something its a CA car no rust only needing a paint job.
I would trade my R/T for that car

Yeah, I've let a bunch go. None of which were considered high dollar but are hard to replace non the less. '67 belvedere II, '66 charger, '66 belvedere I, '73 Polara (just mint too) etc. the list goes on.........don't remind me..........Might have a lead on an '85 Diplomat ex copcar. Not too exciting but what else is there. Low on funds.

Been there, done that. Lost a '69 1/2 440-6 pack Rusty Bee project in a terrible split up. But he didn't get it either (small recompense there).
Car I miss most? My old 66 Coronet 500. It got towed and I was so broke I had to choose between paying the light bill and buying groceries for my little boys, or get my car back. Heartbreaker there.
I DID however, find the car. I know where it is. It's under a car cover and hasn't moved in over 13 or so years. I have my old title, pics of me moving from OK to OR and I'm gonna try to buy it back. It's a total POS and a devil of a car, but it was mine and I want it back. Petty, I know. But this woman doesn't care about it and my now-teenaged sons want to ride in it again someday.

For me two stand out, my 68 Coronet R/T that I sold to a friend that got in a fight with is wife and ran it over and over again into a tree in his back yard untill it was junk. Second would be my 75 Ramcharger with a 440 that I bought new and traded off on a new 80 Capri Turbo RS. In my defense on that one, look at what Mopar offered in 1980. I forget what I replaced the Coronet with but I think it was a 72 Charger SE with a 400 Magnum in it, it was inbetween the Coronet and Ramcharger.
My biggest regret is selling my first 72 BSA Rocket 3, I bought it new in 72 just after meeting my wife, I sold it when we got married. I was lucky enough to replace it a few years ago with a mint condition one. BSA made less than 450 in 72, and in two models (the only difference was the gas tank and color), one for North America and another for the rest of the world, nobody knows for sure how many of each model were made but when I bought my first one I was told only 10 came to Canada. But I quess I'm alittle off topic, sorry.

I have had and sold many Mopars. My experience has been the best way to get over the "blues" of selling one is to buy another!!! Its like getting rid of those old shoes that fit just right and putting on a new pair. They don't fit right until you "break them it just right". Then they are your favorites...
