serpetine conversion
I am getting ready to fit my 440 in my 72 charger and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on a serpentine conversion kit. I have to purchase compressor, alternator and power steering pump anyway. I was thinking about the march street kit. any thoughts

something i ran across. i might be wrong but look out for this. an O.E.M. intake manifold from a 383 or 440 that did NOT have a factory A/C on it, may not let an A/C bracket fit cause the bracket sets on top of the front foot of the O.E.M. intake manifold. i an NOT positive about this. but keep it in mind.

mine was a factory a/c car but I did not get any of factory stuff but the intake is from a 73 a/c car. thanks for the heads up. this is my first mopar so I am learning as I go

March is one of the best out on the market at the moment. Not too many other choices for us Mopar guy's.... :(
|
used to sell March & install them bolt the brackets on loose first & figure where you put the washers needed to shim it in areas because not all blocks are Machined the same
Otherwise the only kit out there that covers all accessories |
thanks, that is kinda what I had found looking on the web but it is nice get some ones opinion that has used the product. Is the a/c compressor compatible with factory controls and dryer or is a after market product work better. I don't have any of the factory stuff and evaporator coil has sat uncapped since 1986.

Better ask if they have a kit to retrofit the SD508 comp. You'll want to do this if you have not already done it.
|
are you talking about march when you say they

On a side note, Andy where are the pictures? I want to see this car!

I uploaded some to an album but I cant figure out how to put in to my reply. it is still real rough but a labor of love

March

Just installed the March in my 440/53 Chrysler Wagon. Installation was straight forward and the quality of this system is first class. The kit I bought included the water pump, AC, power steering, and alternator.
Pricy but worth it in the end. |
Those work great... :)

Let's see the rest of the car.:)
|
You will notice the compressor is different and will not be in the stock location so the intake shouldn't matter... You will need a R134 retro kit for the air..

Rest or the car😃

That's cool!
I've had a thing for wagons, probably from taking vacations back in the sixties as a kid.:) |
That's not a car, its a land yacht! Nice ride.

Thanks
Thanks guys, I have always liked the old Chrysler wagons so I thought I would give one a try. I really lucked out on this one it is absolutely a rust free desert car. I bought it unseen from a dealer in South Dakota.

If you are near Toledo,Oh. It would be great to see that wagon at the MOPAR Blast in Sept
|
Sounds like a plan...car should be done this summer. I live 25miles north of Detroit so Toledo is no problem. What is the date?

The show is open to any Chrysler product. Bring others with you. Always like to see different cars. I make it a point to go to at least one new show a year for that reason. This dealer is about 1/2 mile off Rt23.
