wow , im impressed, thats a nice site. Im amazed that they have a site set up to help customer owners out like that, most of the time your reduced to getting a no name printed manual with vauge instructions. Ive never even seen a chiltons for the sprinters.

Talking Did you order one Mroldart2u?

Did you order yours yet? After mine was shipped, I got emailed bonus tech guide that was a compilation on EGR valve information. It was awesome for anybody dealing with EGR valve issues. Best service manual I've ever seen for any vehicle... period!

Tell me about it!! The 612 and 647's are pretty easy to diagnose and repair after 8 years of messing with them, but the '07-up 3.0L is a different animal. I'm pretty good with them, but damn Mercedes, could you make diagnostics anymore vague? Codes on those will lead you down a dark path. You have have to really think out the system and you almost always find it is something that is related to the codes, just nothing that actually coded!

I always tell people, the Merc diesel is overcomplicated, refined, elegant, and a bitch to work on. The Cummins is just blunt-force trauma, but easy to diagnose and repair.

Well the company that had those finally shed from them ... not due to anything other than the poor customer service that the dealer provided... The vans themselves were really good vehicles, for what they are and what we were using them for... They actually could use more carrying capacity, even tho rated as a 3/4 ton... (Its a 'light' 3/4 for sure) The main problem is I guess as you stated the codes/vagueness is where the dealer fell on their faces... Ususally takes 3 trips to dealer to really 'fix' what was wrong.. I think though that if in the normal consumer (not fleet use) use they would be great if you need a large capacity van....20mpg in town 25ish hyway weighing close to 10k lbs (loaded with tool box, tools supplies parts etc., isnt bad... the down side 80mph tops...

The speed limiter is easy to change, just a few key strokes. I won't do it on the big fleet companies, but the smaller ones ask me to disable it all the time.

As much as I hate them, they are hard to beat. Turning radius second to none, great mileage, very roomy, and good power.

Frieightliner Sprinter 2.7L and 3.0L CDI Owners: We can help with those complicated Sprinter problems, no power, inconsistent power, surging, Variable Nozzle systems issues. Dont fall victim to uneducated technicians or service centers that have no experience with the OM647 and OM642 engines.

I never worked on one but i drove one for about a year for a builder what a nice van i loved the high roof line and the rear swinging doors out of the way and all the options like the anti skid anti rollover cabin heater when you stepped out of the van kept it warm what a well thought out vehicle i actually used that van to knock over tall brush to install a large construction site sign
don't tell anyone
and my brother use to turn them into rescue units for American La France
be for they mismanaged the company out of business
