TCI Outlaw Shifter

I recently purchased a 1966 belvedere II with a 440 and a 727 trans. The car had a TCI Outlaw shifter installed by the previous owner. If I adjust the cable to reach 1st and 2nd I can't get park. If i adjust it to reach park i can't 1st and 2nd. Does anyone have experience with this setup? I didn't get any extra shifter parts from the previous owner. I think the remedy might be TCI #890-148500
Pan Bracket and Level Kit for Torqueflite 727/904. But I'm not sure. Should the factory shifter lever on the trans work ?? Am I just adjusting it wrong? The shifter has the correct 3spd forward gate plate on it and the trans makes positive engagement in each gear when I move the trans through the gears by hand.It seems like the cable does not have a long enough throw. Any help would be great. Thanks.

It might be a reverse pattern shifter or ratcheting ?? Are you ratching the shifter when changing gears?? Put it in drive release the shifter, then pull back to 2th- release the shifter pull back to low.
Adjust it for park position

It is a ratcheting shifter, but it's not a reverse valve body. The ratcheting mechanism doesn't seem to be interfering with the shifter operation. I'll have to call the guys at TCI again.

Instrcutions

Mr. B,
OK, Had the same problem with my B&M Pro Stick when I changed out my cable. I was up at Summit Racing and I walked by the cable and noticed the instructions on the front, so I took a picture. I follwed them and it fixed my issue.

Very Nice car, really like it -- love your hood, I am in the process of putting GTX scoops on mine -

Hope this helps

If the shifter cable runs forward around the starter ? Put some heat shielding around the shifter cable

Thanks Cazbah, I think i just need to fine tune the cable bracket and swivel position. Hopefully I'll be able to make it work. Thanks for the input guys.
