thermo-quad carb problem?
I am not sure why people have a negative opinion about the thermo-quad carb but do they have some type of inherent problem that I am not aware of?
One guy told me that the plastic body warps after a while and develops a vacuum leak and you need to double up an the gaskets......anyone have the facts?
I would like to use it on my friends 440 engine but if it is going to give us problems we may use something else.
Any help is appreciated, thanks ahead of time.

You have the facts already, they do warp and develop vacuum leaks, and they are also a bear to fine tune. On the plus side, when you do get one running right, it;s probably one of the best things Mopar ever used (IMO).

talk dirty to us polara, we love it. ive personally had a few cars with this carb. if the motor overheats too many times. the plactis body will actually crack causing leakage problems. yes they do warp over time as well. they are hard to tune. I personally like the carter now edel. series. thats an awsome carb. and they come n 800 cfm now. I use this carb on all my cars now lol till I put the six bbl. on them.
