You could always measure the bell housing bolt hole and locations and see if they line up to your motor. Making a template of them would be the easiest.

The distance between the two, top bolt holes on the trans will tell you. The distance on an small block 727 is 7-3/4 in, and a BB 727 is 6-1/2 in. Dont confuse them with a dowel pin hole.
