First here is a carrot... the special t-stat needed is the Robert Shaw 370-180.
This is same as us Scout guys use in our 345's... so they are easy to be had at several Scout vendors... including "IH Parts America", and "SuperScoutSpecialists"... hope that helps.

Now... beating the dead horse...

Does anyone have a source or part #'s for the impossible "special" waterpump and head gasket set?

I believe he's talking about the "heavy truck" version sometimes found in Class A motorhomes. "High mount" water pump, different heads exhaust and intake, and I believe uses 18mm plugs

Here's probably a 413 version:



If you are familiar with the routing of the heat crossover on a "normal" B / RB, at least some of these girls had COOLANT running through the crossover area

Here's one, you can see the ports on the ends of the heads where the water pump assy mounts, and note the plugs are angled up

 

Thanks for reply above... I do NOT think it is that similar to the 413 at all though. (I bought this after being told it WAS a 413!!!)... I THINK THE 413 IS WEDGIER... AND WIDER IN the shoulders.

Also as you noted... see my plugs... NOT tilted up. (AR23/24s)
