what motor do i have
I'm not into all the various codes on blocks, but there is lots of places on the www to Google them up. I can ASSURE you that you have an RB engine. There is no such thing as a 440 B block
The only B/ RB anomaly I know of is OLDER 383 and I think 361. One or both of the two for only two years I think, were made in BOTH B and RB.
No 413, 426, or 440s were ever B blocks
No 400s were ever RB blocks.
ANY RB block has the type of ID pad your 440 has, IE the pad to the driver side of the distributor, parallel to ground level, and cast "into" the sealing rail for the vally
ANY B engine has the ID pad over on the passenger side of the block, down by the water pump at an angle.
