Ok i found a 360 thats running perfect that i am going to get next week but it also has a transmission with it. They came out of a 1991 Dodge Ram Van. Now to the question i am not sure if its an A727 or not. I read on Allpar that they did use the A727 in HD models but not sure if this would be an HD model. If it is an A727 i am going to get both and put a new intake, 4 barrel, headers, and cam in it and be done for a few months while i get the car painted. Thanks in advance for the help.

 

Could also be a 518 tranny. That would be the lockup 4 speed overdrive.

ahh ok ill just wait to be sure it what i hope it is. Also would i have to upgrade valve springs, retainers, etc. with this cam? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DCC-4452992AE/ i am pretty sure i might have to but i am looking fr a cam for it and like the Purple cams from Mopar but open to anything that would be good on stock valve train for a while but give good performance also. Just shooting for about 300hp or so.

 

Specifically it is a 46RH if it is pre 1995. It is has a 727 bell housing pattern and fits all but the slant 6. The 518 series has the 727 housing pattern and the 500 series has the 904 pattern.

You will NEED to hook up a toggle to control OD. The RH is a non computer controlled OD. Easy to wire with a single fused hot wire and a ground.

Or PATC makes a custom trigger...

 

I thought the 46HR didn't come out till late 92/early 93 (93 models)?

 

If the 360 it should be the 46RH...However, take a pick and send it to us to confirm. The years do blend some 1995 went to the E designation and the electronic control.

However there are many mismatches out there... and even wierd stamping... I have a 46RE that is heavily modified and the crossmember is blatantly factory stamped "45REE".... Go figure...
