What would this 74 Challenger be worth
Hi, looking at buying a 74 Challenger, well actually trying to make a trade, this Challenger that was all looks like a body off restoration, underneath looks like you could eat off it and the paint is a 8 out of 10, comes with an older 340 4 barrell that was rebuilt with a cam and a few other goodies, says it has a 750 cfm carb, just wondering if this is a little much carb though, automatic, all new brakes and lines, new gas tank, tires, original ralley rims, just an amazing looking car, the owner says its appraised at $24,000.00 Canadian including taxes, i am looking at trading my 1984 Monte Carlo SS, all original car with only 35,000 km's on it, rare blue that looks like new inside and out, underneath is mint, well i can make a trade for around $4000.00 or so difference to him, so guys what do you think and wondering what i should look for on this Challenger and also what do you think it would be worth, like to hear any and all comments and thanks.

As a true collectible, the Challenger isn't worth that much, the '72 and later models do get a little money, but only the original (numbers matching) Rallye Challenger is going to get a decent price. I could do a lot better for $24k.
As for your trade, if the owner will go for it, I would do it. Realistically, a Monte Carlo SS is not going to be worth more than $8K or $9k, but also realistically, the '74 Challenger isn't worth that much more.
