1966 Fury II Wagon
I recently bought this as a spare tow vehicle/daily driver but I have my eye on another car. I really dont want to let it go but I want something else and this has to pay for it.
I have the original window sticker owners manuals warannty papers, and maintaince records.
Its got a 318 Poly engine with
Dual plane aluminum Weiand intake. 4BBL Holley carb, Electronic ignition conversion(no points now) new Distributor cap, plugs and rotor, Summit Racing wires, Sanderson cam, and headers to true dual exhaust. Also has a heavy duty Nathan 4 core aluminum radiator.
Rebuilt 727 trans. Shifts well.
Posi(sure grip) rear with 3.23 gears
It has rear air bags (not air shocks) over the axel for towing and heavy loads. They inflate manually with compressed air. One of the hoses recently broke so that will need fixed.
It also has a hidden class 3 towing hitch. The reciever is hidden behind the licence plate. Its really neat and you cant see it until you flip the licence plate down.
It runs and drives good. The brakes work well. Doesnt overheat. The steering is tight. Will need sway bar bushings. I ordered them but they were wrong. If I recieve them soon I will install them.
The body is in pretty good shape for its age. There are two spots of rust pictured. The bottom of the spare tire well is rusted too. The floors are all very solid.
The interior is in decent shape. You can see there are some rips and tears in the bottom of the dorr panels. The front seat is perfect but has been recovered at some point so it doesnt quite match the rears. The carpet is all there with no rips or tears. The headliner is in good shape too. All the glass is great. There is one small chip in the windshield. This should be able to be fixed without replacement. The rear power window works good.
All the electrical system works great. All the lights and turn signals work. No draws or shorts.
There is a power steering leak in the fitting that attaches to steering box. I ordered the seals the same time I did the sway bar bushings. They were also wrong..
I also have some extra parts for the car.
Nice rechromed front bumper.
.20 over Poly pistons/rings still in the NOS MOPAR boxes
Full engine gasket set
One good fender skirt(not the same color).
PROBLEMS
I personally think the brakes are a bit too touchy. They may need adjustment. Or maybe its just me.
One of the exhaust hangers broke so a piece of one of the exahust pipes hits something while it runs. It doesnt hang down its just moves more than it should.
Tires have lots of age cracks and should be replaced before driving anywere.
As for everyone who will ask me if it can drive to Alaska and back, Its a 40+ year old car. Drive somwhere at your own risk.
