If you swap EVERYTHING over, VIN, fender tag, rad support numbers, package tray numbers, ect, and you state its a rebodied car if you were to sale it, its all fine and dandy.

In the state of New Jersey, swapping a VIN is illegal, no way around it. Straight up ILLEGAL! You might want to check your state regulations before claiming that it is in fact legal.

Theres a Demon around here that was VIN swapped from a slant to a 340.

It's all registered and has been sold once before AFTER being rebodied.

Here is why I said you should check your local regulations:
Washington State:
http://www.dol.wa.gov/vehicleregistration/fraud.html

"VIN cloning, which is the illegal altering of a vehicle title by replacing the vehicle identification number (VIN) on the title with the VIN number from another vehicle. This is typically done to allow the registration of stolen vehicles."
