posting this up for my uncle. i dont know much about it (72? 73?) he just sent me the pics to put it up for sale.ill go check it out tomorrow and see how the floors are and what not. if interested or have more questions just ask, thanks. $4500

thats what i was told, i know its not an 8 3/4 because it does have a back plate, what other rear could it be?

that is where the confusion lies...the 904 is a transmission I'm kinda surprised it doesn't have an 8.75. Might be a 9.25...if it is a factory 400, I doubt it would be an 8.25. Anyone disagree?

I would assume that it is an 8 1/4 if its not an 8 3/4 as the 9 1/4 is more rare, trust me as I had a hard time finding one.

If you want to know if it's a 904 or 727...

Get underneath and check to see if there is a nice "bulge" sticking out on one of the corners. That'll tell you right there. Bet its a 727.

Also, take a tape measure and measure from bolt to bolt on the rearend.
