1923 tbucket 440 6 pack powered
Hello just joined up here to ask some questions in regards to the motor setup. I'm looking for a decent cam for the 440 and just some recomendations on what to get and where to go. I would like it to be streetable and have a very nice lobey idle. The car has plenty of power as it is its only around 2000lbs. Now I have to make her sound a little better. So what are your recomendations?

welocome thats a sweet car!
what gears are you running? stock heads? compression ratio? that will help decide on a cam also. with a 2000 lb car you have alot of options. a 440 alone weights 670 lbs,

First of all....... Welcome to the forum.... My best avise is decide what brand of cam you want... Then call the company direct and tell them all the spects and tell them what you want it to do... Then they can suggest a grind that will best suit your needs... This way you avoid the "try this cam you may like it"... I learned this the hard way... Tried two or three cams before I called and got one exactly what I needed... Might save you some time and expense.. Let the experts do the recommending... That's their jobs!!!

i prefer comp cams, my next engine i think im gonna use a mechanical cam, that or hyd~rollor. mr reves is right, best thing to do is call a cam place and they will set you up right, there gonna wana know your compression ratio, since you gotta pull the manifold, maybe pull the head and find out the ratio,
