1966 Green Plymouth Belvedere II 318

This is my '66 Belvedere I bought Nov. 2008. I have no big plans for the car as of now, hopefully new dual exhaust this spring and drive the heck out of it this summer

The engine came out of a '74 dart and as far as I know it is stock??? The body looks like it has been painted from the chrome down and the trunk lid, other than that I think the body is original. The car drives great and Jeannie and Natalie can go places with me to. Hopefully the seat belts are under the back seat, if not I'll have to install some (Natalie is only 8 months old).

I love those body lines. Clean, straight, looks great.

X2 on the master cylinder. You've got a good strong motor in there with the 318. Looks like it just needs a little cleaning and she'll be a show stopper.

Thanks everyone, and yes it would be nice to up grade the brake system sometime, but for manual brakes and four wheel drum they work better than one would think...

I looked a little (very little) at the parts store and it didn't look like they offered the different master cly. till '67??? Which shouldn't matter but it also looked like it takes a different rod to the pedal??? Anyway if I was going to up grade, wouldn't it make sense to put a power brake booster on also??? I would like to install disc up front someday, but as said before I would like to enjoy the car now.

Sweet ride. You just gotta love the looks you get with carseats in an old car. Nothing like a two yr old asking to take the hotrod to the store and laughing as you smoke the tires. I keep an eye out for you this summer.

Hey 72RDRNR, has our wife found out you're working on your car yet.... and do you have any pics of it? I'm planning on going to the Goodguys show in Des Moines (4th of July), and Cruise to the Woods in Oct. (think its Oct. 4th???). Those are the big events I want to do this year and besides driving it to work I'm sure I'll go to some small drive in shows or cruises. My car isn't show quailty so I don't plan on putting it in a show to set all day, cruises sound way better

About all she knows about are a few $30 parts and the time I have put into it. I was just talking about Goodguys show with a friend of mine. He is going and trying to talk me into it. I haven't been for a few years so am sure I will make it to atleast one day this year. And yes the Cruise to the Woods is on the calendar already. I have been going to that one since the early 90's!! Love it! Have you been there lately?? They now send you a cool Power Point like program with pictures and names of ALL the cars there! Incase anyone else wants to see whats there here is a link: http://wccruisers.com/2008pictures.html . I highly reccomend this show for anyone in the IA, NE, MN area! great turn out and all sorts of cars from in progress to high dollar customs new and old. Plus being in Oct its one of the last shows of the year for us.
We will have to meet up sometime this summer. I'll get some pics of the car up soon. Being it just came out of 9 yr hibernation not very many digital photos yet.

Cruise to the Woods sounds and from the pics on the internet looks very cool, but I've never been to one myself. I personally think meeting up with other cars and cruising sounds better than Goodguys...just because I like to drive around better than set and show. If things go as planned I'm going to both and if anyone here is going, it would be great to meet them in person.

I agree, cruising is more fun. Not that I don't like shows, I have spent many days at them, in the past(car is older now and showing age). But I would rather drive mine and enjoy it instead of sitting under the hot sun watching everyone walk by and nitpicking every little detail!

Thanks! Last summer I had new dual exhaust ran and put a good rear bumper on, I got a new carpet kit and floor mats for it this winter but I've got the garage tied up with my cousin's 1931 model a (welding in some new panels, a steel roof and painting) and I've got a 1965 Coronet coming to paint when it's done. Maybe I can do some work on it in-between, last summer we put almost 3,000 miles on and I plan on driving alot again this summer, going on the first stretch of the Power Tour.
