1970 Bright Yellow Chrysler Newport 383

These are pics of my 1970 Chrysler Newport 2dr coup. It is a factory 383 car and is originally from Brooklyn NY. I just happened to find it on craigslist one evening and the next morning at around 7am I was there in person checking it out (early bird ALWAYS gets the worm). It is a one (now two) owner car that was purchased new by a lady who lived in the Brooklyn NY. The car is in pretty good shape, but just to freshen things up a bit I put in new upper cont arm bushings up front, new shocks, and tires. Although the 383 is a 2bbl motor it pulls with authority with no smoke or chatter....the odometer shows 62K miles, and it is not difficult to believe. Still, I plan to wake the 383 up a bit with a new Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and Carter 600cfm carb. I've already installed a Mopar performance "orange" box electronic ignition, and big 2.5 dia dual exhaust system in place of the tiny single exhaust setup, with Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. I think later on down the road I'll swap the 383 for a 440 I have sitting around in my garage. Everything still works; A/C, heat, am/fm dual speaker radio, and so on. Long, wide hood "C" bodies make you feel like you take up both lanes, gotta love it.
