1971 Plymouth Roadrunner 383/440 4-speed (BIG update)

---SEE UPDATE AT THE END OF THIS THREAT---

Hi guys,

Let me introduce myself: my name is Rix and i'm from the Netherlands (europe). I bought this original matching numbers 4-speed manual shifted roadrunner 2 years ago in original but very worn state. Up until this day i'm trying to get the car back into healthy shape. Of course trying to respect the car's orginal state. Took some time to do all the body & paint work. After that the transmission, suspension, wiring etc.. Just finished the interior yesterday. Next week my new rims (magnum500's) plus tires will finally arrive. This winter i'm going to rework the engine and add new discbrakes. That will hopefully be the start of a new life for this awesome car.

Feel free to check out some of my video's on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/rixrunner?feature=mhum
All your comments are welcome. Thanx!

Nice ride, and welcome! I was in Europe (the Netherlands too) last summer and saw exactly ZERO Mopars, anywhere.

It is said that the last 10 years a lot of american cars have been imported to europe from the states because of the low insurance and roadtaxes here. That won't say that you'll encounter a mopar on every streetcorner. When driving around the country i sometimes see a mopar driving but these cars are getting very rare here too.

Hi Guys,

Just finished a 90% resto. New paint, new interior, new wiring, new suspension, new wheels and a new engine. Took the matching number engine out and stored it away safely (let's preserve it well) and put in a new built 440 (from Koffel's place) with 560 hp.

Some pics and a video:

Sounds nice and the condition looks great
Where did you get your new engine/dash wiring from?

Hi, the engine is from Koffel's place. I'm very lucky that there's an official partner/reseller of Koffel's in the Netherlands.
Those guys helped me with the original wiring as well. Don't know where they got it from.

Here a copy of the dyno sheet:

Hi,

It took a lot of measuring to get the right setup. This was the best config for my car. On top of that this setup including my new suspension lowered the car almost 3 inches.

The rims: 17 inch Magnum 500's.
Front 7,5inch wide/Back 9,5inch wide, though i would advise you to check these measures under your car before deciding to order them. Same for backspacing and offset.

Tires: 235/45/17 and back 275/40/17.

Hopes this is the info you're looking for.
Curious to hear and see what your final choice is going to be.

Exactly what i was lookin for. I know ill need to double check measurements and all was just wanting an idea. As much i love the old school look of 15s i cant help but love what these mopars look like with a mild drop and bigger rims. I think 17s are very tasteful, i have seen a video on youtube of 71-72 roadrunner that had 20s or 22s that was low enough to tuck a little bit of tire and i really liked that look, mind you i grew up around lowriders and bagged trucks, but that may be a little too much for me, i just want to try and build somethin different. Thanx for the info, ill let you know what i decide.

This config is a great combination of true oldskool combined with a bit of a pro tourer look. I get lots of respect from both mopar purists as people into modern day cars.
