1973 brown plymouth satellite

My first project car. Done some work since I got it. Going to clone it to a road runner.

This is when I first brought it home last august.

Roadrunner hood for the conversion

Got rid of the rag top.

New air cleaner

Repainted valve covers

Two coats of powder blue

sanded and primered hood.

New hood on car

Other work done: rebuilt carb., got new fenders, new idler arm, new springs, new rear bumper, new front rotors and calipers, new drums in the rear, new gas tank, new distributer with other misc electrical, new front floor pan. Lots of work left to do.

Coming soon: dual exhaust, 3 inch lift kit, black interior, new rims and tires. (Coming soon as in this summer)

Possible replacement of 318 with 360 4bbl

Possible paint job too but unsure on colors, im thinking of sublime green with black roadrunner stripes mopar style

Thanks, im documenting every step.

Amen for craigslist and all the other online parts suppliers couldn't have done most of the work without them.

Wish I had the car the hood came from. Didn't think the 6pac came in 73-4?

Thumbs up

I had one just like that - it was a parts car
for my black '73 Satellite Sebring Plus
(basically equipped like a RoadRunner minus the hood bulge & floor shift).

I cast my vote for the Sublime w/ Black stripes!!!!
That car in those colors would ROCK!!! Bigtime!!
Go for it!!!

(this was my black '73, photo circa 1984..)

im gonna raise the rear end up three inches, make it look meaner. the sticker under the hood when i first got it said 400ci but i guess the previous owner dumped a 440 in it. the stickers came from a store on the bulge. but yea sublime and black is in the lead judging by your responses. scotts74, we should keep in touch. also i might be getting a 72-74 duster parts car soon

I was thinking the same thing. lol

I like it. It is a good base for a clone. Good luck with it. What color are you going to paint it?

also since this is my first project car, i've learned alot from my mistakes and others mistakes. one being to not bolt down the valve covers too tight otherwise the gasket will be ruined. this is what the previous owner did, big oil leak that could have been easily prevented. check it out-

Yup! That is just people thinking that tighter is better. In some cases it is true, but not here.

I am thinking the same thing for my 74 , but ,the thought of black, with a painted on RRstripe in a dark gun metal gray or a flat black [for that "barely there" look] , black steelies w/ dog dishes. That is in a neck and neck tie for me. Dont forget the rear deck spoiler and the CHIN spoilers!

i was just about to research some spoilers. i heard about some aftermarket steel ones that are out there. i was thinking about painting the entire hood black except the bulge, keep that green. for the wheels i was thinking magnum 500's, cragar classic black wheels like what apollo has on his charger, or some american racing vintage aspen sprints. and of course bfgoodrich radial t/a's

Where in Illinois are you? I have a friend that regularly commutes between Detroit and Huntley in case we need part swaps.

i know this is a few years late here, lol sorry. but i had an extra bumper i got from a guy i bought the fenders from. havent put it on yet, it seems to have some pretty good damage. my plan is to powder coat the bumpers black but havent gotten to them yet. as of now i have my original rear bumper with rust holes and an extra rear bumper that seems to be warped and dented. hopefully youve found one by now but if not id try craigslist, thats where most of my parts came from
