This is my 2wd Ramcharger i drove after high school. It is my next project when the Plymouth is finished, right now i have plans of a 440 swap.

I never knew they made the Ramchargers as 2wd. I guess that would make sense though since they did it with the jeep cherokees later on. Looks like a solid base for your build. You'll sure have plenty of room for the 440.

Lol i didnt know either till i found this for sale. I had a 4x4 in high school, but i thought this would make a cool project, badass grocery getter lol.

i saw a 2wd one that had been lowered a couple of inches, painted black, really dark tint,a set of nice rims but not ricerey. it would make a nice street/strip beast. i wish i could find one in decent shape around here.

I think they would make the ultimate sleeper with a nice 440 under the hood. I picked this one up a few years ago for $1200 bucks. It has a strong running 360, but there is no replacement for displacement.

what you doin for intake? 4bbl, dual 4's, or six pack. its expensive but i think the six pack with the shaker hood would be sexy as hell on your ramcharger.

plymouthrr1985 04-07-2009 07:28 PM

Probably just a 4bbl, it is still in the planning stage at the moment until i get the road runner done. I have a good 440 ready for teardown, but you are right that would be sexy. Anyone ever seen a ramcharger with a shaker??

craveman 04-07-2009 07:43 PM

you can probably still do a shaker with the 4bbl. im thinking of making something for my fifth ave for shits and giggles. is it just going to be a driver or a street/strip build?

plymouthrr1985 04-08-2009 04:50 AM

Probably more of a street/strip build, im planning on building a pretty hairy 440. There would be nothing better then seeing the look on some kid in a 5.0 mustangs face when he gets waxed by a 5,000 pound truck lol.

you should have heard the line of excuses when i beat my friend in his 98 neon. My spark plugs are old, ive got snow tires one, i got a bad start, i used bad gas, i need an oil change. well my car weighs 4000 with me in it, is 25 years old, had chunksof oil in the oil valley around the pushrods, had snow tires on it, and with the carb i had on then it was fouling out plugs in around 600 miles and there were500 miles on that set. Even though ive given him many times to get his car right (he has put in bigger injectors, a bigger throttle body, and a cold air intake) he still cant beat my fifth avenue. however one of my frineds has a 92 mustang with a 5.0 that i cant even come close to touching. but with that 440 and a little bit of nos hidden somewhere that would be one hell of a competition for it.

I love fast vehicles that you dont expect. Everyone expects my 69 runner to be fast, but this old ramcharger will be a big suprise lol.

Tub the rear and throw on some 33" street slicks.

plymouthrr1985 04-08-2009 10:08 AM

And paint about 4 different colors of primer, to make it look like a piece of junk. Just for the added sleeper effect lol.

craveman 04-08-2009 12:42 PM

thats got an 8 3/4 in it doesnt it?

plymouthrr1985 04-08-2009 01:33 PM

Honestly im not sure, i need to get under it and check.

craveman 04-08-2009 01:35 PM

sounds like one hell of a project. gonna do a complete build or just drop the motor in?

plymouthrr1985 04-08-2009 01:52 PM

Probably start with the motor to make sure it will fit, and drive it for awhile but i have plans for new paint and interior somewhere down the road.

plymouthrr1985 04-12-2009 08:04 PM

Sorry i havent posted in a few days, started my new job so i can pay for the Metallica tix i just bought lol. It has an 9 1/4 under it if im not mistaken. I havent looked myself but that is what i read on a site somewhere
