Thanks all. When I was looking, the post-70 Birds were not considered by many as as collectible as the older RRs. Now even the post '73 Birds are getting attention. I always loved the look of the '71s.
I like to show it with the hood down as the body is sleek! The engine bay, door jambs and trunk area are original B-5 and are in great condition. Bumpers are original chrome and have remains of black decal stripes on rear bumper.
Wing and tips are not OEM for this bird but I had to have them.. It was not easy for me to drill the trunk lid..Thinking back I may not have added them (hindsite you know). Never added the front chin spoilers..Didnt like the look.
The guy that restored it bought from original owner in AZ. Original sale docs were in glove box.
I sent the owner pictures of restored car and asked if I could contact him.
Called him and he told me back in the 70s he had a collection of MOPARS and he raced them. Told me this car was only one with AC, PS, PB, and SB. He used it for going to store, church, etc. A real find. Believe it or not, I bought restored for about 15K$.
Had to replace turn signal switch, radiator and AC condenser. Later, master cylinder..
Love the Thermoquad! when the big barrels kick in!! Have a spare new old stock TQ sitting on the shelf.
