The quickest cars are running Hoosiers Radials... The stock eliminator rules govern the size of the tires. The fronts are 28" x 4" and the rears are 30x9" wide... Rears cannot be wider than 9".... I'm not going to be able to follow this thread too long or else I'm going to get the urge and start chopping my R/T up too. Dang it, I didn't buy it to be a racer, but this just feels too exciting.

 

Hey Buck.... I've been told that drag racing is additive as Heroin... I aught to know because I've been hooked the second time for over 10 years!!!! Just a part of life I can't so without!!!!! The rears arrived today and got the rears mounted.. Will wait on the fronts to make sure they clear the brakes before I mt them... Can't return after tires have been mounted....

Well I couldn't stand it any longer... I called my "inside man" at Mopar this am... He had been gone a week to the SEMA show in Vegas last week and was trying to get thru a pile of mail, voice mails and e-mails. Some of which were mine!!! He then got to his "report" as of Friday. My car was done all except for some front brake parts!!!! The shippment was sent to the old assembly facility in Auburn Hills and not to the new facility in Lavonia. App 20 miles away... Anyway he didn't know how long it was going to take to get the parts in but it wouldn't take long to complete the car once they have the parts.. So here I sit in Florida with a Boo Boo lip that is causing the lower half of the country not to see the sun today its so BIG..... But what else can I do???? I've waiting almost 14 months on this car now,,, what is another day or two.... Pure HELL is what it is!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for letting me vent.... Now I'm calm and cool again......

This has been a very long time coming!!! I will take this to my Dealer in Daytona tomorrow and get it filled out and then faxed to Mopar.. Plans now are to pick it up on Monday the 16th........ Christmas did come early in Florida this year!!!!!!!!!

Well its another twist to this tale... The e-mail was filled out and faxed back to Mopar. They even wanted to know when I was going to pick it up. I told them the Monday 16th. I was getting all ready to leave on Friday and had a feeling that i needed to call and confirm my delivery. Good thing I did... The car is STILL not ready.... The brake rotors are still not in and they had broken two of the side windows in a couple of cars. They could not tell me if mine was one of them or not. Anyway, still waiting for the call..... I know when its coming... This Thursday, reason for that is my youngest daughter is getting married on Saturday and all relatives are coming in for the wedding and there is NO WAY I can get to Detroit and back in time for this wedding. So I have a hard deadline that I can't move.... So, here I wait.......

Well, here we go again.... I got a call this morning from my "inside man" at Mopar that my car is ready.... I asked him if he had seen it and that it was really ready this time...... He said no but he is to be at the build facility tomorrow and he will look it up and see for sure.... He is positive its ready. He was reading the latest report form the builder and it it on the list.... I told him I would believe him when he was standing beside it and call me to let me know for sure.... So, assuming it is ready this time the plan is to leave Florida on Sunday around noon. My GPS tells me its 18 hours to Livonia... So that puts us there around 6 am Monday morning. The receiving hours are from 9 am to 4 pm. So we get a three hour nap take delivery of the car and then drive the 18 hours back to Florida... A piece a cake!!!!!!!! Will keep all posted as the week progresses just in case the Phantom tries another escape....

 

That sounds too hectic! I have an idea! I have a check right here, I can go pick it up for you. Of course I would like to keep it as well! Good luck drive safely, and watch the other guy. We are all happy for you.

I would definitely demand a proof of life photo from the terrorists who are holding your new born hostage before you turn over the ransom check and make that long journey only to find she isn't really there. Tell them it's simple, all you need is a picture with a popular current newspaper with todays date held beside or in front of the hostage. Just remember proof of life.

 

Well I don't have a picture but I did receive a call this morning at 8:10 am. My "inside man" at Mopar was at the build facility and it is DONE!!!!!!!
He was standing beside it and looked at the release documentation and it is DONE!!!!!!

Now the trip on Sunday to Livonia is a GO!!!!!!! Take delivery on Monday and head back to Florida...... My parents, and siblings live in SW Virginia so will stop off there for one of "Mom's home cooked meals" on the way back and get into Florida on Tuesday...... Will post pictures as soon as I get back......
