Different wheels

Hey all. I have a 66 Valiant. My wheels are 5 on 4"

I would like to change them to a 5 on 4 1/2"

Can I find drums that will just bolt on, or do I need to change the brakes out and stuff?

If anyone can tell me the easiest way to do this (also the lease expensive) I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

My personal preference would be to do a disk brake up grade/ control arm swap.. NOT that expensive if you do some junk yard shopping- gets you 4 1/2 bolt pattern. The rear You should go to the 10"x2.5" later style drums and backing plates (the most common readily available size) BUT the axles need to be changed also Or just swap the complete housing from a later A body Rear depends on what is currently in the car. 66 Valiant probably has a small 7 1/4 rear, so look for a 8 3/4"

Later 1970 up 9-10" Dart/Duster drum assembly's (drum, backing plate, wheel cyl, hardware.) would probably fit on the front. I have no personal knowledge

Too much work ?? Depends on if you want to stop when needed ! Too many years ago I my familly had a 65 Baracuda with those tiny brakes At one time we put a Valiant front end on it. The result of my sister running into the back of someone.
