Loose wheel studs

I bought a 65 fury yesterday and there's a knocking coming from the rear driver side area. I was checking the wheel and two of the studs are loose. Whats the best way to get the lugs off so i can replace the studs?

I would probably try to split the affected lug nut(s), maybe with a dremel, hammer and chisel or whatever I could think of, and peel the nuts off...

Another idea may be to take the 3 good lug nuts off and pull on the tire/wheel toward you while unscrewing the nut from the bad studs.

Chances are that those driver's side studs are LEFT HAND THREADS!!!

Good luck!!

Probably you can remove the lug nuts or can replace it with new tires

i dont have a 1965 manual. but i do have a 1967 coronet / charger manual. i cant remember what year the left hand studs was last used. the 67 manual does not say any thing about left or right hand threads. but it does say the dart used 7/16-20 stud size with 55 ft-lbs torque. the coronet and charger 1/2-20 stud size 65 ft-lbs torque. note: of interest the 426 and 440 engine had 14X5-1/2 wheels, with 7.75-14 HP tires
