Tire size for 70 Charger

I want to get some bigger tires for my 70 Charger and was thinking about putting 275/60/R15 in the back. Does anyone know if I can go bigger with no clearance issues? Maybe a 295/60/15? Also if I go with a 50, the tire gets wider, but does it also get shorter?

Thanks!

Should fit but will be snug with passengers and rougher roads

Front up to:

18x7.5 4.75 backspacing with 245/45/18

Rear up to:

19x10 5.25 backspacing with 275/40/19

I don't know if you can go bigger with everything stock including body.

295 50 15 fit on an 8.5" rim
305 should go especially if you have 17 or 18" rims as there is less sidewall roll with larger rims
275 60 is a very tall tire & will change the gear ratio , so you have to take into account the height of the tire relative to rpm at any given speed , 50 series is much shorter relative to width & closer to factory height
