2002 Chrysler Sebring--P0705

Hello,

My son is driving a 2002 Chrysler Sebring, 3.0 V6, Auto. The check engine light has recently come on, and the code is P0705, Transmission Range Sensor (PRNDL input). Everything I have read so far points to the Neutral Safety Switch. I'm fairly comfortable with mechanical repairs, but what I have NOT been able to find is where this part is located? I have been told everything from "on the steering column" to "inside the transmission."

Can you please point me to the true location of this part? Photos and instructions would help too, but I'll be thankful for any information I get.

Thanks all!

Ther's 7 models of chrysler sebring in 02 if its a LX coupe this will work.

The switch is mounted on top of the transaxle in the engine compartment.

Getting a repair manual would be your best bet

Sweeperking, you nailed it! I could sort of see it underneath the airbox. Removed it, and had easy access to it. Removed the connector and reseated it...now we'll see how it works. Thanks so much.

Good job Sweeperking! That is one of the reasons people like this forum so much. Lots of activity and help when you need it.

Because of what I do for a living I have resourses on just about anything for just about any make/model car or truck to include heavy for 1981 and newer (sorry kind of weak on info for the classics)
