I have a 66 fury with a 440. My question is about the heat riser valve on the passenger exhaust. looking at it from the passenger side fender which way is open? fully clockwise or fully counterclockwise? It is missing the springs but it does have the butterfly and appears to be free so i want to wire it open.

 

The exhaust from the engine should push it open if it free. Watch it and have someone start the car. You sould be able to see which way it moves.
