727 Leaking at selector seal

Hi,

I installed seals on my selector shaft assembly 2 years ago but now I've developed a pretty severe leak.

I removed the valve body and seals today and they didn't look bad. I noticed that the selector shaft fitment in the valve body bore was pretty sloppy so I'm guessing that is the real cause of the problem.

The detent spring is probably pushing the shaft towards the driver's side, creating a leak on the inboard side of the seal. My neutral safety switch quit working not too long ago and the loose shaft would explain that too. The selector is probably not engaging with the switch correctly.

I see that you can get "new" selectors on line but I'm guessing that the valve body is worn so a new selector won't fix the problem.

Anyone have experience with this and can shed some lite on this? Is it worth sleeving the bore in the valve body? Are real new OE valve bodies available? I could go a mild performance one from TCI, etc. Any idea if they are "new" or just re-worked?

Thanks,
Rob
