I have an 85 dodge that keeps shorting out the radio and draining the battery somewhere. the only thing that is noticeable is the radio shorts out when i change gears or hit the turn signal. I don't know how to take the sterring column off or how exactly to track the short past that. any suggestions?

 

This wont solve the why part but you can re-run the radio power to battery

Do you have a shop manual most will include wire diagram


Check your fuse that is linked to you radio make sure ur using the correct one(rating)..
