97 Chrysler Cirrus igniton problem?

I have a 1997 Chrysler Cirrus that won't start. It ran fine all day long. I went out to start it and several things aren't working. I have headlights, interior lights, panel lights, only the BRAKE indicator, and the door ding. I don't have radio, any other panel indicators, and nothing on accessory ignition position. When I try to start it, I don't get any clicks. I don't hear the fuel pump start up when I turn the key either. I also found the Fuse 8 under the hood was blown. I replaced it with another 20A. Everything was good till I turned the key and it blew. Is it a starter issue, ignition switch, or something else?

When a 30A fuse is inserted instead of a 20A, the fuel pump does engage as does the solenoid. All the panel indicators come on, but still no radio, no click from the starter, and not turning over.

What's number 8 fuse for? It might have a better description of it in the operator's manual.

Do NOT replace a fuse with that of a higher amp rating!!!!!!

You'll find out where the fault is in the circuit real quick, by the smoke and fire!!!

Sounds like a short in the circuit that fuse 20 is protecting. Start by testing voltage up to the component and find out where the short is.

I have schematics for this, AND I work at the factory that made it! What motor do you have? Fuse 8 is a biggie! It provides power to the starter relay, solenoid, and the ignition switch. With the 20 amp fuse replaced, can you turn the accessory "ON"? How about ignition "on" without hitting the start position? Does it only blow when you hit "start"?

I have the exact issue on my 1995 Cirrus and i can't figure it out. I have a 2.5 v6. I can turn the ignition to the accessories position. And the fuse only blows when i "start" it. Do you know what the issue is? I could really use the help.
