carb manifold ?????s

I am picking up a 318 long block have a Edelbrock 2176 manifold for it what would be a good carb.?? just looking for a decent driver not a racecar.

Edelbrock Performer. Looks like the factory Carter and it's basic, simple, easy to work on and I'd buy another!

eld performer intake and 600 cfm eld 4 bar carb here..very streetable, runs great!

I am going against the grain here but I would try a Q-jet. Better fuel mileage with the small double venturi style primary and the adjustable part throttle.
(sorry for going against the grain, but I kind of specialize in building them)
BTW, I just found a really mint Q-jet on a 1 ton Dodge van, 1985 vintage.
All I got to do is clean it up with some carb spray and a little scrubbing. All for the pricely sium of $24!! (the 1 tons used non-electric carbs)
