Question Grounding issue

My 1966 Fury 3 has an electrical problem I am stumped by. The headlights dim, and pulse in sequence with my turn signals. Also when the brakes are applied. The radio goes off for a second when the brakes are applied. I grounded the body to the frame in two places, and cleaned the battery ground to the motor. I also grounded the motor to the body. No sparks when touching the ground to the battery. Can anyone help?

Explain "no sparks when touching the ground to the battery". Sparks would be an indication of current flowing. You have a digital multi-meter?

By no sparks, I meant that there doesnt appear to be a short in the system. (no arcing when connecting the battery cable).

I have a digital meter., but am far from an electrician.

Sparks show that current is flowing back to the battery. Lucky for you, I AM an electrician! Lets start with something easy. I'd like you to run a lead on the DMM from the ground of the headlight, to the neg of the battery. Set it on DC volt, and give me the measurement.

I have isoloated the problem to the tailights. after removing the brake and tail lights from the housings, the problem is gone. I am cleaning the bulb housings, and the area where they push into the light housings, to see if that helps. all the insulation on the harness looks good , and is not brittle in the trunk area; no signs of cracked ins, or anywhere that the wire was arcing to the body.

On my way back to the shop to get the readings on the headlight ground with the meter.

Kinda sounds like the head lamps and radio fall into the same category as a symptom. The cause sounds like a short in the brake light circuit.
