head selection and wing question
hello guys, i recently purchased a set 906 heads for cheap.
theyre from a 68' new yorker 440.
i was wondering if anyone had an idea as of what the combustion chamber cc would be. ive heard that some earlier castings have lower cc chambers, is this true??
also, i purchased a 1971 Chrysler 300 last year, everything seems stock ish
except the back has a wing on the trunk and molded into the quarter panel tops. a few people i talked to thinking that it may be dealer installed because of the crispness of the lines and edges.
its almost likethe 1970 hurst wing but without the cutout section.
i attached a few pics, thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.
I did a quick search and came up with a little something for you.
No picture but, if you read the verbiage for the '70 300, there's mention of a Hurst package 300, with an integrated rear deck spoiler. So, maybe a dealer did install this on your '71. Rick

thanks rick, ive done a ton of research over the past year, the wing was a 70' only option for a hurst, not 71' and if you get a chance to google the 70' you'll notice the the spoiler is not quite the same. close though, and my car when i bought it was spinnaker white, and thats what the build sheet shows as well.

thanks, i like it, it makes people at the shows give squirrly looks, in addition to being a non popular chrysler in the first place haha, the edges and work done on it looks far too clean to be something someone in their garage cooked up. in addition to having a tnt setup in it and the sway bar.
its almost like a hybrid hurst that was not supposed to happen.

Should be easy to see if the car came with the TNT. Dealers often did what ever to sell a car. Often there was a body shop and or speed shop right close by, and just about anything could and did happen. The after market was awash with such things in the 70's, no reason yours was'nt some sort of repop or copy. Some folks can actually do good work in their garage as well. Customizing was more popular than numbers matching in the 70's. Don't discount it so easily. As for the heads just seal a chamber with a little Vaseline and tip upside down and measure the cc that fit in it, No?By the way sweet car.
