LA Heads and Cam on a Magnum
Hi, I am in the process of putting together my 360. Just got the block back from the shop, and I didn't realize that the block was a Magnum block. I already bought heads and a came for an LA block. I am wondering if it is possible to us this cam and these heads on the magnum block, or not. I know there are issues with oiling, and valve angle but I am not sure what those issues are and if there are ways around them or not. Thanks Joe

the best way to fix this problem and to sell the heads and cam and get a set for a magnum motor. I pretty sure there is no way, OR a really expensive way of fixing it but you;d be better off selling what you have and getting a set for a magnum.

dont think you can go that route, i have heard of mag heads and instake on la block but not vise versa. i dont think mag block is compatible with la cam cause lifter pockets are different right? and a diff angle, im not sure, and not a pro but i would get a la block. more choices out there for everything. slightly cheaper too.

I'm having a similar problem. i have a 360 magnum with a 360 LA crank and internals. not sure if this set up is gonna work. im pretty sure the cam will work with your motor. the heads will not work. the magnum heads have different oiling ports and oil through the pushrods. if anyone else has any insite on this it would be much appreciated

These two items should answer your questions:

Pay attention to the pushrod clearance through head, very important.
