newbie gearbox help please

sorry if this is an age old question but can anyone help me id my gearbox
the engine and gearbox came out of a dodge ram quad cab pick up
it was bolted in but i'm not sure if it's the correct one ??
it's a 318 la engine but i'm not sure on which box it is , i'm leaning towards a 904 ???
is there any numbers stamped on them ( as i can't see any ) or any way of id'ing it ???
