oil pressure

the oil pressure again.....

i think my gauge may be going bad. i noticed to day that it was randomly droping and going all wackey when i would stop or let my foot off the gas. but as soon as i got up over 20 mph it would shoot back to where it should be.

any input ?

oil pressure does drop when idling, as far as the gauge - consider it is a 42 year old electrical piece and never very accurate from the beginning. maybe invest a 75-100 in a decent set of aftermarket gauges oil/water/volts. this way you know a little more what is going on in your engine.

You are right here in Delaware, bring it over my place and I'll put one of my gauges on it for you. We will know in one minute. PM me and I'll tell you where I am. (newark)

might haved called some parts the wrong things but i think thats what the guy called em. the thing the carb sits on. he said the seal is starting to leek. or he said it was a gromit on my pcv valve what ever that is. but he was right i was losing oil some how. cuz the car took almost took bottles, and its running fine now. but i would still like to have some one look at it.
