Power steering pump - Rebuild or Replace
My 1971 Dodge B300's power steering is completely dead. There is fluid in it, but no power. I noticed there is a rebuild kit at the parts store for about $25 that has some seals, while a whole pump is $155 - $8 core.
I have no experience with repairing power steering pumps, I've never had a problem with them in the past, except for them leaking.
Anyone here have experience repairing or replacing these pumps? Should I go to the boneyard and get one?

Shop around some more. Hopefully you have a GM style pump. You should be able to just buy the "pump" part of the unit and just swap over your resevoir {spelling?} and your pulley, this should cost less.
Iff you have the other style It will cost more. {u most likely dont}
If yours is just leaking around the edge where the pump attaches to the resevoir, that is just an o-ring that is bad, easy to change.
If it is leaking around the front pulley shaft, then you need to replace the unit {easiest way to fix}
Your local auto parts store should be able to swap over the pulley for you.
Be careful removing the lines and installing them, you dont want to strip these threads. Make sure they thread by hand a ways when installing.
Just my two cents worth. {the pumps are not complex}
