putting a 440 into a 6 cyinder dart

I have a '70 dart & a '63 dart both 6 cylinders. and have a 440 &727.
just sitting here. so what needs to be done. How big of a can of warms am I opening? Some people say you have too replace the K Member but can it done without having to do that?

I'm going through a similar delima...I've got a 50 Plymouth Special Deluxe with the straight 6 and a 440/727 waiting for a new home. The problem is I have NO idea if this thing will fit in there without alot of cutting and grinding of the fender/wheel wells and the firewall! I'm actually thinking of getting a huge block of foam and "making" a full-size 440 out of it to see if it'll fit in there at all before I try to fight hundreds of lbs of engine on a hoist and damage anything.

The 70 Dart is a good candidate for a 440. I think the 63 Dart the engine compartment is smaller
