I am going to put a 440 in my 68 fury. I am wondering what the best posi rear endwould be to use with the least amount of cost and work.

Your 68 Fury should have an 8 3/4 rear end. So it would be very easy to install a sure grip rear carrier.
The center section is removable

Rear end

Will any center section bolt in? How about the axle shafts does that change? Like will a 489 742 fit?

All 8 3/4's will interchange as well as the axles as long as they are the correct length, some housings are wider then others.
OH..... by the way Mopars have "SURE GRIPS".... not posi traction.

Best all around ratio...... 3:23

uhm there is two types that go in that axle. Auburn or clutch type. Depending on which you will also need the pins to go on the end of the axles so it's a valid question.

Posi-trac is a general motor term. sure grip is the chrysler dana term. As you can see some people take offense at it. You can also use limited slip if you wish though even that some are ornary about.

if your 68 was a org 383 2bdl the carb parts are not made to fit a 4 bdl. the 4bdl connections to the cables ect are more forward and to the left than 2 bdl parts.
