Tire Size
I am fixing to replace the tires on my truck, currently have 265/70/17 on a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Quad Cab. I wanted to put 315/70/17 on but cant seem to get straight answer from anybody about wether or not they will fit, and if they will scrub with out adjusting the stock ride heigth.
Any help is appreciated.

They will not fit. the 265/70/17 is basically a 31.5" tire. the 315/70/17 is a 34.5" tire. You will need to do a body lift or suspension lift to clear those tires without rubbing when going over bumps or with a load/towing something.

I used this site here to figure out tire size http://www.rocky-road.com/calculator.html and thats how I knew you would need a lift. Usually you can only go up one tire size and be safe with a stock suspension. anything more and you will have to start trimming fenders or modifying your ride height.
