Tuning Tips... In case you missed it..

Here is an article dealing with tuning a v8's.

I found it very interesting, a couple of the articles are from Hot Rod magazine.

One part talks about fine tuning your timing by adjusting an allen screw located inside the vacuum advance unit.

Does anyone have experience with this?

Joe.

that little allen screw is a big pain in the butt if you do decide to mess with it make sure you get a piece of paper and a pen and write down how many times you turn it and only turn it a qtr turn at a time mines still not right

Nice article!!
I used it to set up my Inital and mechanical advance.
I went to get a hand held vacuum pump. The local store wanted 90 bucks. OWCH!!
There is no pinging or surges now so, I left the vacuum advance adjustment alone.

Thanks for the link.

Your welcome.

Given you guys past experience I think I will leave the factory adjustment just the way it is on the vacuum advance diaphragm. Unless I get really bored I am really loving tinkering with this engine, and it's starting to sound kinda nice
