Where can I find out?

Im looking for some information on how many of each type of duster were made for 1971. To be specific, I was at the local wrecking yard yesterday pulling some buckets and a console out of a 71 Duster. I popped the hood expecting a v8, and it was a /6 I was pretty suprised. the car was painted POO BROWN (not factory color im sure ) But when I scuffed the paint It was painted over Plum Crazy Purple...... I thought (probably mistaken) the purple cars were all high performance cars. It was originally purple with White buckets and a black console??? Drum brakes and a /6, 7 1/4 rear end...... No fender tag ir VIN to straighten me out.... So maybe someone with more knowledge than me can explain? Thanks.

OH and still needing an answer about what a non power disk brake setup for A bodies would sell for.

The slant dusters were very common AND you could order them with Plum Crazy paint or any other high impact color. Somtimes the factory would send them out the door with the high impact color as sales lot cars.
I dont know the numbers as of production but they were WAY up there compared to previous other pre-duster A-bodies. The dusters were super popular and only got more popular. The highest point was 1974 when they made over 400,000. Feather duster only came out (I think) as 1975 or newer models. There was a law (?) by the goverment stating that if your car got over a certain MPG that you were exempt from running a catylitic convertor. (among other things). Thus came the idea for the feather duster. It was lightened in various ways and came usually with an overdrive 4 sp. Of course this was right in the middle of the gas crunch, so people were concerned with MPG . Even so, finding a feather Duster is hard to do today. Most were just regular Dusters.
..........ENJOY!!..........
