Allen Johnson Suprises Dad with a Challenger Drag Pak for Christmas
Allen Johnson Surprises Dad with Drag Pack Challenger
The father and son team of Johnson and Johnson Racing will be campaigning two Dodge drag cars in 2010. Back in November they unveiled their new NHRA Pro Stock Avenger at the SEMA show and on New Years Day, Allen Johnson surprised father Roy with the ultimate Christmas present, a new Dodge Drag Pack Challenger. The car is legal for NHRA’s Stock Eliminator class and several racers with Pro Stock ties plan on racing these late model factory muscle cars this year.

Roy Johnson's Challenger features a retro paint scheme that matches his original IHRA Championship winning Super Stock Mopar
The Challenger was built by B&B Race Cars in Hoenwald, Tennessee and features a B&B sprayed retro paint scheme that recreates the look of Roy’s Super Stock Mopar he raced in the 1970’s. Roy started racing a 1962 Plymouth in IHRA’s Super Stock class and scored numerous race wins, along with two Super Stock season championships.
B&B Race Cars started the build from a white Challenger Drag Pack roller. They installed a roll cage, rear suspension, wiring and final prep before delivery.
Naturally, the car is powered by a new generation Mopar HEMI and Roy plans on entering the car at select NHRA events in 2010. Darren Breaud of B&B Race Cars took delivery of the Drag Pack Challenger a few months ago and has worked overtime preparing the car for the New Years day surprise. B&B Race Car updates include an 8.50 e.t legal roll cage, solid axle rear suspension and complete accessory wiring. Scott Brown Graphic Designs provided the retro inspired lettering that was applied over the black, burgundy and yellow paint scheme sprayed in B&B’s own in-house paint shop.
