1964 Imperial

Removing passenger side valve cover on 64 Imperial with 413 motor. Back of valve cover hits heater box cover. Does this have to be removed? Putting on after market valve covers can't get this valve cover off. Any help appreciated. Ken

There was another member here with a 64 Imperial, and he was saying that he needed to remove the heater components to remove the valve covers.

On my 68 Imperial, you don't, but that's a very different car.

Good luck, and nice to hear about Imperials. The previous member with that 64 Imperial seemed rather inexperienced, and the car seemed to struggle under his care.

Try removing the motor mounts and dropping it down as far as it will go, if that doesn't work try jacking the motor one side at a time.

Let us know......
