1970 d100 engine mount issue

Hi, so i just finished rebuilding a 360 for my 1970 d100. When i went to reinstall the engine, i found that the motor mounts did not lay flat on the frame brackets. I've double checked the brackets on the engine to be sure they were in the right configuration and they were. I did replace the front cross member while the engine was removed due to some unnecessary cuts the previous owner had made. So my question would be, when i changed the cross member could i have distorted the front frame rails enough to cause this engine mount miss alignment, or is there some thing else that i missed?

Checked the isolators and it doesn't seem to make a difference which way they go. Could shimming the transmission mount make a difference?

Has nothing to do with the trans mount There is a right and wrong way for the insulators to be installed.. Make sure the dimple in the insulator aligns with the indent/hole in the motor mount. I have done it myself.

I'm not sure what you mean by dimple. The insulators i'm using are flat on the top surface other then the one stud in the middle that connects the insulator to the motor mount bracket.

I don't know what you have? Diagram at Rock auto show's it to be the same. Could your motor mounts require the newer type of insulator ? OR the K frame is a newer version that requires the newer insulator

I wish to heck I knew. Only advice I can give you is to find a pickup in your area and look it over. I'm not sure, but I think these mounts were the same for years and years.

I found the problem. Turns out upon closer inspection the driver side engine mount bracket had been modified by the previous owner to allow the mount more movement side to side. I was able to find another driver side mount locally so problem solved.
