2000 5.2L magnum to 1988 5.2L LA
Hey guys, new member here. I have a 1988 5.2 that i rebuilt, new Cam, new bearings, aftermarket intake, and that's it. Everything else is OEM (heads rockers push rods oil pan, oil pump). I'm planning on doing a motor swap in my 2000 Dodge Ram which also has a 5.2. I'm planning on taking the LA cylinder heads off the 88, and putting the magnum heads on it. I'll also add the rockers and a new aftermarket intake since, the one current on the 88 won't fit the magnum. My question is, what else needs to be swapped to the LA motor for it to work properly? Such as push rods. Can I refuse the push rods in my magnum and put them in the LA motor? Thank you for all the help.

Search the internet, Magnum heads on LA , and you'll find tons of info, this has been done countless times. Check your block between lifters for cast in bosses that will bolt spider, this can give you the option of running a roller cam or flat tappet cam.
