318 cam help
#2
Two threads?
We’d need to know a little more. what year? What is your goal? Major thump or a little punch with some nice mileage?
I always recommend the comp camps 256. that’s the bumpstick I went with in my own 318. really good low end torque with nifty mileage and very little LOP. If you want more LOP, you can step up to the 268 but it recommends a higher stall converter and now you have a major project.

Very easy to overcam a small engine with limited heads and end up with a dog. What you want in a 318 is the "modernized equivalent" of the old 340 stick cam. No more.
"Lope."
This idea of showing up at the drive in and wow'n 'em all with your big cam has always seemed less than intelligent to me.
Do you want it to sound like an AA/F or do you want it to be first at the other end?
