I have 318 bored .30 over with a mild cam in it and was wondering if putting pre-smog 360 heads and intake on it would be possible/beneficial or not. I have access to these parts but want to know if they're gonna be worth installing. Thanks

 

There's a never ending argument.......with no other changes than heads, what's better, more compression or larger ports. I'd bet it's close to a trade off depending on what's on there now

I would NOT spend the time and money to put 360 heads on there unless you are willing to change pistons, etc, to get the compression back up

 

Lots of variables. I would say with stock compression it would run better with the small valve 318 heads
