440 cast crank replacement
 
hi im new to this forum so sorry if this has been ask before. I would like to know if i buy a 440 that has a cast crank can i buy a steel crank to replace it?

Yes, it's a direct swap.

Use lighter aftermarket pistons and have it balanced, all the OEM type pistons are now the low compression variety 8 to1 and are 850 grams +.
Good aftermarket pistons are 600 to 700 grams and you can get the compression ratio you want.
If your needing a crank and pistons I would look at a stroker kit, a 4.15 crank will get you close to 500cid.
Can you say burning 🔥 rubber torque.

Are you looking to make mega HP and need a forged crank or just because you heard they're better. A cast 440 crank can support a lot of power.

450 or so reliable HP with a cast crank, more than that go forged.
