68 chrysler newport starting problem
Well started it up this morning took it for a drive nothing abnormal. Tried starting it up later on turned the key cranked but didn't start no clicking it sound ls like it wants to start but doesn't turn over. I noticed a gas smell as if the carb was keeping the gas in it. Looked around at the carb and some gas was seeping out of the side like it had nowhere to go. This never happened before and I rebuilt the carb 3 months ago so everything is new except the float. Update I noticed that when I press on the gas the carb isnt opening the way it should I adjusted the choke it seems like the throttle cable might be loose or has too much play not sure if thats the problem but I did get it to almost start but it choked rightly out so something with the carb or choke I guess.

I will try again tomorrow after it sits o threw somw fuel stabilizer in the tank so we'll see
